By doing so, you purchase a share - or stake in the Credit Union. A share account is the Credit Union term for a savings account. The account earns dividends - the Credit Union term for interest. Holiday/Vacation Club Also know as Christmas Clubs - a club account is a great way to save for those once-a-year expenses. Dividends are posted quarterly. Your deposits are federally insured to $100,000 by the NCUA, an Agency of the U.S. Government.
